| Syed
Sharafuddin Shah Wilayat originally belonged to the city of
Wasit in Iraq. He came to India from Iraq in the reign of
Moghal Shahinshah Orangzaib Alamgir and started preaching
Islam. He established his religious school (Madressa) at a
distance of about 90 kilometers from Muradabad, and named
the place as Amroha which is now the nearest city to Muradabad.
Syed Sharafuddin Shah Wilayat served the cause of Islam day
in and day out and thousands of non-muslims embraced Islam
by his relentless efforts. He was both 'Jalali' and 'Jamali'
in his self. His miracles can be witnessed at his tomb even
today. Every year, at the occasion of his "Urus"
millions of Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and those belonging
to other religions visit his mausoleum and get their wishes
fulfilled by the grace of Almighty Allah. The descendants
of Syed Sharafuddin Shah Wilayat are settled in (Amroha Sharif)
Muradabad in quite a good number while so many are settled
in various cities of Pakistan including Karachi. The same
is the case with his followers/murids/admirers. From the descendants
of Syed Sharafuddin Shah Wilayat, Syed Abid Ali Shah S/o Syed
Sultan Ali Shah, established a housing society in the name
of his 'ancestor' and got it registered under the name of
"Shah Wilayat Cooperative Housing Society Limited. Today,
by the grace of Almighty Allah, not only the phase-l of this
Society has been successfully accomplished and its valued
members obtained their plots but also the phase-II is being
initiated on the insistence of its members. May Allah grant
us success in our noble endeavors and help us in enlightening
and glorifying the name of Syed Sharafuddin Shah Wilayat.
